Comfort Knitting

Lately, I have been craving small and uncomplicated knitting projects, which do not require concentration. My heel fracture has not healed yet and I have been also dealing with a painful nerve disorder in my foot. The possibility that I may never walk again and live the rest of my life in pain scared me so much that all of my focus has been on my recovery. Since I have been too distracted to follow a pattern, I have been mostly knitting plain socks, which are my comfort knits.

I knitted a pair of socks and a matching slouchy hat for my husband. I used DROPS Fabel in the colors Winter and Deep Ocean.

The hat pattern I made up as I went along and I really like how it turned out. Here is my son modeling it.

I made another pair of socks using Stylecraft Head Over Heels Boho in the color Neva and DROPS Fabel in Black. I love how bright these colors are. I did not want matching socks and purposely oriented the stripes differently in this pair.

Lately, I have been able to wear only very thin ankle socks on my injured foot and my ankle has been constantly cold. So I knitted myself these ankle warmers from leftover DROPS Fabel in the colors Salt and Pepper and Black. They feel very cozy.
