Do You Recycle Buttons?

I found these buttons yesterday in a box in my garage. I have no idea where they came from, but they are beautiful. They are made from a hard wood and look nicely polished. Their shapes and sizes are not uniform and they appear to be handmade. I would love to use them for a cardigan or jacket.

I usually have a hard time finding the right buttons for my knitted garments. In addition, nicer buttons tend to be very expensive, and I strongly dislike spending more money on buttons than yarn for a piece I am knitting. I have thought about removing buttons from clothing my family and I don't need anymore and saving them for future knitting projects. Do you save and recycle buttons?
