The Capitol Hat

Saturday's election result inspired me to knit something patriotic, so I made the Capitol Hat designed by Hinterm Stein. The hat depicts the iron dome of the United States Capitol, which is a symbol of the American people and their government.

Grey hat depicting the U.S. Capitol knitted with DROPS Karisma

I used leftover DROPS Karisma in light pearl grey mix and 3.5mm knitting needles. I made some small changes to the pattern to accommodate my smaller stitch gauge relative to the row gauge. I intended to knit the hat for my husband, but it ended up fitting my daughter best. It was an easy and fun project and I may make more Capitol hats for the rest of my family.
