Sweatshirt Sweater

Since this pandemic began and we have been staying at home, my daily outfits have been mainly sweatshirts with leggings. So when I saw the Sweatshirt Sweater by Purl Soho, I knew that I had to knit my own sweatshirt too. I envisioned it to be very soft and light and thus chose to make it with DROPS Air, a yarn made of baby alpaca and merino wool air blown into a polyamide tubing. The color is Ruby Red. Instead of following the pattern as it was written, I took the main design elements from it and created my own. I like the body of my sweatshirts oversized with well-fitting sleeves and high neck to keep me warm.

I love the simple design of this sweater with the ribbing detail on the pouch, sides of the body, raglan lines, and inner sleeves. Instead of a crew neck, I knitted a funnel neck in stockinette stitch with the ribbing detail continuing on its two sides and a folded hem with an icord draw string.

It is a very comfortable sweater with the warmth of the alpaca yarn. I see myself wearing it a lot this winter.
